New Bond Film delayed one week

gemma artertonDue to a push back of the new Harry Potter film Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Price, the new Bond film Quantum of Solace will be released a week later than previously scheduled. Bond films have traditionally been released Thanksgiving weekend, but this time it will be released on November 14 rather than November 7.

“We believe Nov. 14 is a great date that allows us to play straight through Thanksgiving and right into Christmas,” Jeff Blake, Sony chairman of worldwide marketing and distribution, told Variety. “We believe this decision will give the public a wider opportunity to see the film over the holiday.”

Quantum of Solace, starring Daniel Craig, Gemma Arterton, and Olga Kurylenko will now compete with Soul Men starring Bernie Mac, Samuel L. Jackson and Role Models starring Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Seann William Scott.
